Your impact

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical infrastructure challenges. We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Senior Project Manager/Client Service Leader to help grow and strengthen our municipal water business in Huntsville, Alabama and across the region.

In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to key municipal clients while leading the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater projects. You will be responsible for developing strategic client relationships, driving growth initiatives, and partnering closely with the Client Account Manager (CAM) to expand Jacobs' presence and market share. You will also mentor project teams and help position Jacobs as the consultant of choice for our clients through exceptional project execution and service.

Here's what you'll be doing

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project planning, design, execution, and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Serve as Senior Project Manager on complex municipal water, wastewater, and conveyance projects, maintaining accountability for project performance, quality, financial results, risk management, and client satisfaction.
  • Act as a Client Service Leader for strategic municipal clients, building and maintaining trusted relationships with decision makers and stakeholders at all levels of client organizations.
  • Partner with the Client Account Manager (CAM) to execute account strategies, identify emerging client needs, expand Jacobs' service offerings, and strengthen long term client engagement.
  • Function as a Growth Leader within the Huntsville and broader Alabama municipal water market by identifying opportunities, developing capture strategies, and leading pursuits that result in new and repeat business.
  • Support business development efforts including client engagement, opportunity positioning, teaming strategies, proposal development, interviews, contract negotiations, and strategic planning activities.
  • Collaborate with regional and national technical leaders to bring innovative solutions and leading edge technologies to clients while supporting Jacobs' growth objectives.
  • Mentor and develop project managers, technical professionals, and emerging leaders within the organization.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, integrity, and safety consistent with Jacobs' Culture of Caring.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience managing municipal water, wastewater, conveyance, treatment, or water resources projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain through reciprocity within six months.
  • Demonstrated success managing large and complex municipal projects, including responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk.
  • Proven experience building and sustaining executive level client relationships that lead to new business opportunities and long-term partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of municipal water market trends, client procurement processes, and project delivery methods.
  • Successful track record leading business development activities and winning municipal consulting work.
  • Experience collaborating with account managers and regional leadership to develop and execute client growth strategies.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and team building skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to mentor high performing teams while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Established relationships with municipal water and wastewater clients throughout Alabama and the Southeast.
  • Experience serving in Client Service Leader, Client Account, Growth Leader, or similar market facing leadership roles.
  • Experience leading alternative delivery, design build, or progressive project delivery pursuits.

165,000.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

215,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $165,000.00 to $215,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
