We are proud to be trusted partners in shaping safe, efficient, and resilient infrastructure.Job Description:Collaboratively work in partnership with our Chicago Branch Office Manager to lead civil engineering design projects in a team-oriented environment. Project emphasis is transportation engineering design for both public and private sectors which range in scope from small to multimillion-dollar designs. Services are provided to a wide range of clients that include state DOTs and other governmental agencies – municipal, county and state.Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for delivering quality highway/roadway design plans that meet client expectations and adhere to project budgets and schedulesCollaborate with both internal and external team members including other design disciplinesProvide training to staff-level engineersParticipate in project proposal preparation and client presentationResponsible for being the Engineer of Record on projects, point of contact for clientsPerforms other job duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) registration in Illinois required15+ years of experience in civil/highway design projects for state DOT, County, City and/or other municipal clientsExpert knowledge of IDOT/Tollway plan development guidelines and standardsProven track record of leading multiple design projects concurrently, taking projects from pursuit through final plan deliveryExperience with Project Management methodologies and best practicesExperience in coordinating and collaborating with specialty discipline leads (Traffic, Hydraulics, Structures) and with subconsultants and training staff-level engineersFamiliarity with procedures, methodologies, and standards including but limited to the HCM, MUTCD, AASHTO, US Access Board guidelinesProficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer (ORD) within IDOT/Tollway and other agency CADD environmentsProficiency with Excel and other general office softwareExcellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and organizational skillsPreferred Experience:Desire to be involved with business development and project pursuitsExperience in giving client presentationsExperience with developing, negotiating and reviewing design fee proposals and contractsAdditional experience:Hydraulics Modeling and Drainage DesignIntersection/Interchange Design Studies (IDS)Traffic Studies and Signal WarrantsCrash Analysis and Safety StudiesPhysical Qualifications:Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periodsVisual focus for electronic documents and design softwareSufficient mobility to move to various locations in and out of the office to use various office equipment, coordinate with other staff, visit other EFK Moen and client offices/meeting locationsEFK Moen offers:Paid Time Off (PTO)Paid Company HolidaysPaid Parental LeaveHealth, Dental and Vision Insurance401(k) with Company ContributionCompany sponsored Short and Long-Term disability coverageCompany sponsored life insurance coverageProfessional License exam fee reimbursementOvertime compensationBonus OpportunitiesSupport of professional organization membership and activitiesWork-life balance through a flexible, casual work environmentA culture of mentoring and teamworkStarting Salary Range: $160,000-195,000; signing bonus available for highly qualified candidatesPay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.EFK Moen is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace.
