Job Description

The Senior Project Manager will:

  • Lead a large-scale institutional construction project from preconstruction through closeout
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, consultants, and project stakeholders
  • Provide leadership to project teams including Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and support staff
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and reporting processes
  • Administer owner contracts, subcontracts, and procurement activities
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Coordinate design, engineering, and construction efforts to ensure project success
  • Lead project meetings and effectively communicate progress, risks, and solutions
  • Monitor project financial performance and maintain budget objectives
  • Identify and proactively mitigate project risks
  • Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control initiatives
  • Ensure successful project turnover, closeout, and client satisfaction

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Project Manager should have:

  • Experience managing public construction projects within the property industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and schedules effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt to project challenges.

Familiarity with construction management software and tools. The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

  • 10+ years of experience with a General Contractor or Construction Manager
  • Proven experience leading large-scale construction projects valued at $30M+
  • Experience with institutional, higher education, public sector, laboratory, healthcare, or technically complex projects preferred
  • Design-Build experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from preconstruction through completion
  • Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills
  • Experience leading project teams and mentoring junior construction professionals
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and project controls
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders in a complex project environment
  • Reputation for professionalism, integrity, accountability, and strong work ethic
