Senior Project Manager – Highway and Transportation Infrastructure

Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join our growing highway and transportation infrastructure practice in Fresno, CA. This role will manage and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality transportation infrastructure projects for clients in Fresno and other surrounding areas of the Central Valley, including Caltrans.

Responsibilities include business development in support of growing our Fresno office, managing multidisciplinary design teams, overseeing technical deliverables, and ensuring that design submittals, construction documents, and specifications are completed on schedule. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of engineering quality and compliance with Caltrans requirements, local agency standards, and applicable industry criteria. Our Project Managers remain closely engaged with design development, technical reviews, project controls, and delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Act as a company representative, leading discussions with the client, Caltrans, local agencies, and subcontractors during project execution
• Work with discipline leads and project engineers to develop, negotiate, and monitor scope, schedules, and budgets
• Oversee and review technical project deliverables, including ensuring that all applicable technical standards are followed
• Act as a mentor to junior staff and enhance the current high-performance culture.
• Ensure all quality processes and requirements are continuously followed, including applicable Parsons and Caltrans quality-management procedures.
• Lead the monthly reporting of project financials and metrics.
• Market and secure additional work with existing and prospective clients.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• Professional registration as a California Professional Engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related technical field.
• 15+ years of related civil engineering and project management experience on transportation projects.
• Ability to manage projects, interface with clients and stakeholders, and remain actively involved technically in project delivery.
• Experience with project planning, scope development, fee preparation, scheduling, and the preparation of planning documents.
• Experience leading final design development and a demonstrated record of successfully managing and delivering transportation projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication, as well as problem solving skills.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

• Strong technical design background with extensive experience delivering transportation projects for agencies within Central California.
• Comprehensive knowledge of transportation engineering principles, Caltrans standards, industry standards, design criteria, project controls, and quality management practices.
• Experience with transportation design software and modeling platforms, such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MicroStation, or equivalent, is preferred.

Salary Range: $134,100.00 - $241,400.00
