POSITION: Senior Project Manager (Finance Transformation)

LOCATION: Urbandale, IA (Hybrid 3 days in office a week)
CONTRACT: 18-Month Assignment
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8am- 5pm
PAY RATE: $66.67/HR, paid weekly
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support a major Finance transformation program. Reporting to the Project Lead, this individual will be responsible for managing and supporting multiple workstreams while ensuring projects are executed successfully and completed in alignment with the overall program strategy.

The Senior Project Manager will oversee both direct and indirect resources across geographically dispersed teams and will work closely with senior stakeholders at the local and regional levels.

Workstreams may include people, process, technology, and real estate initiatives designed to support the future-state Target Operating Model for Finance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading large-scale change initiatives, business transformations, and complex projects and must be comfortable driving projects forward with minimal supervision.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support multiple projects and program workstreams from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate project activities across multiple regions, departments, and functional teams.
  • Communicate project priorities, milestones, risks, and deliverables to management and project stakeholders.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain project implementation documentation, including:
  • Project plans
  • Migration schedules
  • Implementation toolkits
  • Business cases
  • Assessments
  • Communication plans
  • Identify, track, and escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Partner with leadership to resolve problems and support key project decisions.
  • Prepare and present project updates to senior Finance leadership.
  • Ensure project deliverables remain on schedule and aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintain appropriate project controls, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure established change-control processes are followed across assigned projects and programs.
  • Drive workstreams to completion with minimal oversight.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience as a Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, or Transformation Project Manager.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex projects or major change initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance, risk management, and change control.
  • Experience creating detailed project plans, business cases, assessments, and executive-level presentations.
  • Strong stakeholder-management experience, including working with senior leadership and executives.
  • Ability to manage teams and resources across multiple locations and business functions.
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion with minimal direction.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting Finance transformation or Finance operations projects.
  • Experience with Target Operating Model (TOM) implementations.
  • Experience managing projects involving people, process, technology, and/or real estate transformation.
  • Experience working within a large, complex corporate or professional-services environment.

 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a seasoned Project Manager who has successfully led major transformation initiatives and is comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders. This person should be highly organized, proactive, comfortable managing competing priorities, and able to identify and resolve risks before they impact project delivery.

 

Working Conditions:

  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Use of computers and technology.
