Senior Project Manager – Commercial GC | Rockland, MA

Location: Rockland, MA | Full-Time | In-Person

Commonwealth Building, Inc. (CBI) is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. CBI is a Commercial General Contractor and Construction Manager serving clients throughout New England. We specialize in ground-up construction, tenant improvements, and occupied renovations across the Retail, Restaurant, Corporate, and Commercial market sectors.

Reporting to our Project Executive, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall management, financial performance, scheduling, and successful execution of multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Job Responsibilities

Manage multiple commercial construction projects concurrently from preconstruction through completion.


Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.


Review plans, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and other construction documents.


Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and job cost reporting.


Lead preconstruction, project kickoff, and regular project meetings.


Manage subcontractor and vendor buyout, contracts, purchase orders, and procurement.


Work closely with Project Superintendents to coordinate field operations, schedules, quality control, inspections, and project milestones.


Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and other project documentation.


Prepare owner requisitions and manage project billing and financial reporting.
Monitor project costs and forecasts to ensure financial goals are achieved.


Identify project risks and proactively resolve scheduling, financial, technical, and operational challenges.


Maintain strong communication with clients and ensure expectations are met throughout the project.


Manage project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, record drawings, permits, final billing, and required documentation.


Utilize Procore to manage project documentation, financials, schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout.

Qualifications

10+ years of commercial construction project management experience, preferably with a General Contractor or Construction Manager.


Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.


Strong knowledge of commercial construction, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, procurement, and cost control.


Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and project teams concurrently.


Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.


Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.


Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.


Procore and Microsoft Project experience preferred.


Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and client-focused approach.
