Senior Project Manager – Commercial Construction
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a well-established commercial general contractor in Mobile, AL. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned construction professional who can step in and hit the ground running managing projects from preconstruction through closeout.
This is a plug-and-play opportunity for someone who already understands the full project lifecycle and can take ownership from day one.
What You'll Do
- Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout
- Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, and overall project performance
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation
- Maintain accurate project budgets and cost tracking
- Lead subcontractor buyout and procurement efforts
- Monitor project schedules and proactively identify potential delays or issues
- Conduct and lead project meetings with owners, design teams, and subcontractors
- Negotiate and manage change orders and ensure proper documentation
- Review subcontractor performance and hold teams accountable to schedule and quality expectations
- Identify and resolve project issues before they impact budget or schedule
- Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact throughout the project
- Mentor and provide leadership to Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other project staff
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the client's expectations
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of commercial construction project management experience
- Proven experience independently managing commercial construction projects
- Experience with multiple commercial project types preferred
- Strong understanding of contracts, budgets, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, and project closeout
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Experience managing projects through the entire construction lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
