Overview

An established design-build construction firm is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of commercial construction projects. This role plays a critical leadership position within the operations team, overseeing project managers, field supervisors, and support staff to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The company has a long-standing reputation in the commercial construction industry and is known for its collaborative culture, proven project delivery processes, and strong client relationships. Projects are typically located within a regional radius of the central office, allowing team members to maintain a healthy balance between field responsibilities and personal time.

The Role

The Senior Project Manager will oversee multiple projects and lead project teams through all phases of the construction lifecycle. Success in this role means maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring operational efficiency across project teams, and proactively managing schedules, budgets, and risk.

This role also serves as a mentor and leader within the organization, guiding project teams, resolving complex project challenges, and contributing to continuous improvement in project delivery processes.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and proactive project management.
  • Lead and mentor project teams including project managers, coordinators, and field leadership.
  • Develop and oversee project schedules, identifying potential risks and implementing solutions to maintain progress.
  • Manage project budgets and financial performance across multiple projects, including review of change orders and payment approvals.
  • Oversee site operations and support teams in resolving complex project issues.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards to ensure projects meet regulatory and client requirements.
  • Manage contract administration and resolve contractual issues with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction project management.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, technology, and project delivery processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scope documentation.
  • Proven leadership experience managing project teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
