Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee complex fire alarm, life safety, and security system projects from initial planning through completion. This role is responsible for managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, subcontractors, field activities, inspections, and overall execution while maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has strong experience managing fire alarm and life safety projects and is comfortable working across both office and field environments.

Required Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Engineering with 6 years of relevant project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of project management experience within fire alarm, life safety, security, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, milestones, resources, deliverables, and overall project execution.
  • Manage complex fire alarm, life safety, security, prime, and design-build installation projects.
  • Coordinate with field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, contractors, architects, customers, and internal teams.
  • Manage project budgets and subcontractor activities.
  • Provide field supervision and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Lead project reviews, site visits, pre-tests, commissioning activities, and FDNY inspections.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Communicate project updates, changes, risks, commissioning progress, and solutions effectively.
  • Support sales activities through project walkthroughs and takeoffs.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Project Managers.
  • Help ensure projects comply with applicable industry standards and local codes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and project stakeholders.

Skills & Technical Knowledge

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and project execution.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems, electrical theory, construction drawings and blueprints, NYC fire and building codes, NFPA standards, and ADA requirements.
  • EST product knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working in both office and field settings.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
