Job Overview:
Responsible for the day-to-day tactical duties for assigned programs. Oversees and coordinates the cost, schedule, and technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer. Serves as a single point of contact between engineering project management, planning, the engineering project team, and line management. Reviews the status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports. Assesses engineering project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring engineering project progress, and for intervention and problem-solving with engineering project managers, line managers, and customers. Provides coordination between resource managers and supervisors, ensuring all necessary reviews and approvals are received. May conduct performance and project analyses during phase-down to benefit future or other engineering projects, missions, and programs.
Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of the job area and in-depth knowledge of project management.
Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes, and approaches.
Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
Provides input into new products and processes, and implements operational plans that have a measurable impact on business or functional results.
Experience with the development, maintenance, and production of large-scale Electronic Warfare systems, or other relevant technologies. Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the program lifecycle and lifecycle models, including Waterfall and Agile.
