Senior Project Engineer

Job Title: Senior Substation Project Engineer

Location: Oakland, CA

Pay Rate: $75 - $95 per hour, W 2

Duration: 6+ Month Contract

Work Mode: Hybrid

Summary:

• Hybrid work model with 2 days in office per week
• 20% travel within the company's service territory
• Client laptop provided; other tools must be vendor-provided
• PPE provided by vendor

Responsibilities:

• Manage large complex projects and perform engineering analyses, studies, and develop conceptual designs
• Lead, coach, direct, and assist technical employees and teams on technical issues
• Assist in finalizing contract project specification and technical evaluation of contract project bids
• Provide support to other departments in land, permitting, and legal issues
• Resolve problems of complex scope with opportunities for creative or non-standard approaches
• Engage with external contacts such as contractors, vendors, and local public agencies
• Provide technical direction to less experienced team members

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited curriculum in the US or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years of cumulative experience in electrical engineering and design

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in multiple large-scale, large budget electric substation projects
• Experience in substation engineering
• Skilled in project management
• Current California PE license
