We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This role will be responsible for leading project accounting activities, including maintaining ledger accounts, performing account reconciliation, and managing financial reporting for various projects. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex financial tasks and ensuring compliance with HUD regulations. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee project accounting functions including ledger preparation, account reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and budget analysis.
• Ensure all project transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger (GL) and project accounting system.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for various projects.
• Work closely with project managers to monitor project budgets, forecast future costs, and identify potential financial risks.
• Ensure compliance with HUD regulations and guidelines in all financial activities.
• Develop and implement effective project accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial information and documentation.
• Collaborate with other finance team members to streamline financial operations and achieve departmental goals.
• Continuously evaluate current accounting technology and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA designation is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting or a similar role. Experience in the Accounting and Finance industry is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of project accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including HUD guidelines.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and systems. Experience with ledger and GL systems is essential.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• High level of integrity and professionalism with a commitment to ethical practices.
