Senior Project Accountant

Focus Search LLC is recruiting for a Senior Project Accountant for a rapidly growing General Contractor based in the Columbus area. This is a lead-level construction accounting role responsible for overseeing project accounting activities while serving as a key financial partner to Project Managers and Operations teams. This position manages accounting for complex construction projects from setup through closeout, reviews and mentors Project Accountants, resolves billing and job-cost issues, and ensures accurate financial reporting, cash flow management, and contract compliance. Key responsibilities include overseeing owner billings, retainage, job costing, change orders, WIP schedules, forecasting, account reconciliations, project closeouts, and financial risk mitigation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 
  
• 5+ years of construction project accounting experience
• 
  
• Expertise in job costing and project financial management
• 
  
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and construction ERP systems such as CMiC and Textura.
• 
  

Salary: $95-125k
