SCOPE OF WORKThis position is within our Sequoia Community Corps – Susan Harwood Safety Training Outreach Program. This position works with the Program Coordinator to develop and conduct safety presentations. The incumbent of this position also assists with case management to track participation, enhance customer service skills, and ensure goals are being met.ACCOUNTABILITIESAssists in developing OSHA curriculum in accordance with Susan Harwood topics and standardsConducts OSHA-approved trainings in English and SpanishTranslates forms, documents, and curriculum to SpanishIs diligent in time management to meet program deadlinesWorks in collaboration with funding sources, partners, and staff in promoting and furthering program goals and objectivesFacilitates trainings and workshopsInitiates and maintains ongoing collaboration with a variety of business and industry representatives to promote the Susan Harwood Program and provide targeted topic training to their employeesDevelops training plans and determines appropriate training methods for traineesMaintains communication with employers during the grant period and provides support by giving referrals for safety-related issuesPrepares and modifies documents including correspondence, reports, memos, and emailsConducts pre- and post-testing requirementsRemains updated on program requirementsCompletes required reports on the progress of program milestones and activitiesPromotes and implements marketing opportunities and other activities that inform the community about the program and its participantsModels positive behavior expected of program staffParticipates in and travels to outreach events and meetings with partner agencies as assignedParticipates in training and professional development to build required knowledge for the positionPerforms other duties including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies, and proceduresSKILLS & ABILITIESAbility to uphold company principles and practices to the highest degree and represent the agency in a professional mannerProvide exceptional customer service for individuals from various backgrounds, including efficient, precise, and courteous communication in a dignified environmentAbility to speak effectively with groups of customers, employees of the organization, or outside partnersAbility to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employers, co-workers, members of other agencies, and the general publicAbility to deal with customers and staff in a calm, professional, friendly, and patient mannerAbility to work under pressure and with different types of personalitiesKnowledgeable in modern office procedures and methods; proficient in the use of a computer, Windows operating system, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and program databaseStrong communication skills, research abilities, flexibility, and an ability to work well with othersAbility to read and interpret documentsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceKnowledge of the local labor market and employer expectationsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailIn-depth knowledge of all aspects of the various company programs and the ability to communicate policy information in a clear and detailed mannerAbility to work effectively with minimal/no supervisionAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in written formWORK CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with California and federal law.
