SRG Government Services is supporting a growing aerospace and defense organization seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to lead and manage complex defense programs from inception through completion.
This individual will be responsible for program execution, customer communication, schedule performance, budget management, risk mitigation, reporting, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defense program management, experience managing large product-based government programs, and the ability to work closely with engineering, operations, finance, supply chain, customers, suppliers, and senior leadership.
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex defense programs.
Develop and implement program strategies, objectives, milestones, schedules, and deliverables.
Ensure program execution aligns with customer requirements, contract requirements, and company goals.
Serve as the primary point of contact for program-related communications with customers, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Manage customer expectations and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Oversee program scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and performance.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and reporting tools.
Monitor program progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
Lead and mentor cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, finance, supply chain, and related departments.
Develop and manage program budgets, forecasts, expenses, and financial performance.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or execution.
Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and customer requirements.
Prepare and deliver regular program status reports to senior management and customers.
Maintain accurate program documentation, including contracts, reports, records, and traceable program activity.
Represent the organization professionally with external customers and stakeholders.
Present at internal and external meetings with government officials, leadership, and technical teams CONUS and OCONUS.
Support ERP implementation activities as needed.
Act with integrity, work collaboratively, meet commitments, and apply continual improvement methodologies.
Support other projects as assigned by leadership.
Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
10+ years of program management experience within the defense industry.
Experience managing large, complex programs with budgets exceeding $100M.
Experience managing product-based government contracts; this is not an IT, cyber, or intelligence program management role.
Strong knowledge of defense industry regulations and requirements, including ITAR, DFARS, and FAR.
Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, customer communication, and financial performance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and customers.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to create project plans, milestone charts, status reports, and executive-level presentations.
Proficiency with project management tools and software such as ERP systems, Visio, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Must be able to complete a background investigation and drug screen.
Master s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
PMP or equivalent program/project management certification.
Experience with energetics-related programs.
Experience supporting manufacturing programs, defense production, aerospace systems, munitions, ordnance, or related product-based defense environments.
Experience working with CONUS and OCONUS technical teams, manufacturing sites, suppliers, and government customers.
The ideal candidate will be a defense program manager with experience leading large, complex, product-based government programs. This person should be comfortable managing cost, schedule, risk, customer communication, reporting, and cross-functional execution while working closely with engineering, operations, finance, supply chain, suppliers, and senior leadership.
