Senior Production Manager - Job Description

Job Description:  

OPAV is seeking a highly skilled SeniorProduction Manager to lead the execution of Large-Scale, complex live event productions with excellence. This role requires advanced technical expertise, sharp financial awareness, and the ability to work with a high degree of independence. Senior Production Managers serve as trusted partners to Account Managers and clients, shaping strong technical solutions, managing larger budgets, and ensuring seamless project delivery from planning through execution and post-event review.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with Account Managers on high-profile and complex projects, providing advanced technical consultation during pre-planning and design.

  • Independently manage large-scale productions, overseeing logistics, vendor coordination, and crew execution with minimal oversight.

  • Monitor and manage budgets for complex shows, ensuring cost efficiency, profitability, and compliance with margin goals.

  • Act as a trusted client-facing representative, engaging directly with clients and stakeholders to align technical and logistical solutions with project goals.

  • Anticipate challenges and resolve issues on-site, maintaining OPAV’s standards for quality, safety, and professionalism.

  • Produce comprehensive post-event reports with insights for operational improvements and client satisfaction.

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Represent OPAV’s core values and reputation for excellence in all client and industry interactions.

  • Support Account Managers and peers by sharing expertise, offering input on technical designs, and setting the standard for production best practices.

  • Remain adaptive to changing client needs, technologies, and company priorities, stepping into complex situations with confidence.

  • Represent OPAV with professionalism and integrity to clients, vendors, and partners.

  • Support departmental initiatives by contributing to process improvements and collaboration across teams.

  • Adapt to changing client needs and company priorities, assisting with other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.

  • 7+ years of professional experience in audiovisual/live event production, with proven success managing complex, high-value projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of audiovisual systems, staging, lighting, and integrated production technologies.

  • Proficiency in Flex Rental Solutions, Vectorworks, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.

  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing project budgets and vendor negotiations.

  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate independently under pressure.

Work Schedule: 

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
