    Description

Amazon Devices & Services has committed to an ambitious path toward net-zero carbon. Getting there means measuring, reducing, and eliminating the carbon footprint of our products at a scale and speed that manual processes simply can"t match. Our team builds the software, platforms, and intelligent systems that make that possible - turning slow, manual sustainability analysis into fast, AI-assisted work, so our scientists and program managers can focus on the highest-impact carbon-reduction work.

We"re looking for a Senior Product Manager - Technical to own a portfolio of the products and platforms at the center of this mission. You"ll work hand-in-hand with a team of software engineers who specialize in AI development, and you"ll own products end to end - from customer problem to shipped, adopted, and measurable capability. This is a builder"s role for someone energized by ambiguity, comfortable going deep with engineers and scientists, and motivated by impact you can measure in both real-world carbon reduction and time given back to experts.

    What makes this role exciting

A meaningful part of this portfolio is about defining and launching AI products. Partnering with engineers who specialize in AI software development, you"ll shape and ship capabilities such as:

    • Systems that automate slow, expert-intensive analysis using machine learning and AI-assisted estimation.
    • Generative and agentic AI that helps teams make smarter, carbon-aware decisions earlier in the product design process - when those decisions matter most.
    • AI-assisted decision-support tools that put complex environmental data and trade-off analysis directly into the hands of product and design teams.

If defining and launching AI products is what gets you out of bed, you"ll have plenty of it. But this role is broader than any single product: you"ll also own platform strategy, drive customer-facing automation, run the mechanisms that keep a fast-moving team aligned, and represent the voice of the customer across the organization. We"re looking for a well-rounded product leader who can go deep on AI and carry the full breadth of technical product management.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own products end to end- define the vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap for a portfolio spanning core platforms, automation systems, and AI-driven decision tools; write the narratives that align leadership and partner teams.
    • Define and launch AI-powered products, translating ambiguous problems into crisp requirements, validated prototypes, and shipped capabilities - partnering closely with software engineers who specialize in AI, and with applied scientists.
    • Lead cross-functional programs across engineering, science, program management, design, and partner organizations; drive planning, launch readiness, and mechanisms that unblock the team.
    • Ground decisions in the customer and the data- run customer discovery and voice-of-customer research, establish success metrics and baselines, and use adoption and impact data to decide what to build, scale, or stop.
    • Own platform strategy for the systems of record that your products depend on - balancing reliability and trust with the flexibility new AI and analytical use cases demand.
    • Communicate up and out- deliver business and program reviews, drive prioritization and operational planning, and influence stakeholders from individual engineers to senior leaders.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
