    Description

Want to shape the physical products millions of Amazon customers use every day? Hardlines Private Brands (HPB) is investing in speed to market and global category expansion, and we need a Senior Product Development Manager to own the end-to-end roadmap for a key category. You will take consumer-facing products from initial concept through manufacturing and commercialization across multiple regions, defining the materials, features, and value proposition that raise the bar for customers and make them choose our brands with confidence. This is a hands-on product development role where you will navigate ambiguity, balance global and regional priorities, use AI to accelerate ideation and analysis, and collaborate with sourcing, design, marketing, and business teams to launch products on-time and on-target.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own the global roadmap for your category - opportunity, feature set, and prioritization - informed by customer signals, market trends, and product performance data across regions.
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration with sourcing, design, business, in-stock, marketing, legal, and compliance teams to deliver products from concept through manufacturing and commercialization on-time and on-target.
    • Navigate ambiguity to define new processes and solve problems where playbooks don"t yet exist, applying strong judgment to keep programs moving forward.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce commercialization timelines by root-causing process and system defects, then define and document future-state processes that unlock speed without sacrificing product quality.
    • Make strategic trade-offs between global consistency and regional needs, balancing speed to market, business performance, and product features while aligning stakeholders across functions.

    A day in the life

You will lead regular cross-functional product reviews with sourcing and business stakeholders, evaluate physical supplier samples, and provide design direction on materials and finishes. Between meetings you will use AI tools to accelerate data analysis, test product concepts, and close process gaps. You will also coordinate with regional teams to align launch timelines and resolve local requirements, keeping global product launches on track.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
