Senior Procurement Manager – Job 22494
Location: Inglewood, CA (Greater LAX Area)
Job Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Pay: $160,000–$180,000 per year
Work Setting: On-site
Status: Accepting Candidates
What You Will Do
You will manage a team that buys parts and materials for aerospace and defense products.
You will work with suppliers to get good prices, good quality, and on-time delivery.
Main Duties
  • Manage, train, and support a team of buyers.
  • Work with suppliers to get the best price, quality, and delivery times.
  • Negotiate contracts and supplier agreements.
  • Make sure purchasing follows company, customer, and government rules.
  • Track team goals and results.
  • Help solve supplier problems, including late or poor-quality parts.
  • Improve the way purchase orders move from Planning to Procurement.
  • Help find and approve new suppliers.
  • Track supplier risks and help prevent problems.
  • Find ways to save money and lower costs.
  • Visit the warehouse or production area when needed to check parts or processes.
What You Need
  • Experience buying parts for an aerospace or defense company.
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Experience managing a purchasing team.
  • Experience using KPIs or other ways to track team results.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Experience buying machined parts.
  • Experience working with machining suppliers.
  • Strong skills with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience
You must meet one of these requirements:
Option 1:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of related experience
  • At least 5 years managing a purchasing team
OR
Option 2:
  • Master’s degree or higher
  • 5 years of related experience
  • At least 3 years managing a purchasing team
U.S. Person Requirement
