Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and optimize injection molding processes for both new and existing products using scientific molding principles.
  • Lead mold sampling, process development, validation activities, and production launch initiatives.
  • Partner with Quality teams to establish robust process controls and ensure consistent product quality.
  • Troubleshoot molding processes, tooling, materials, automation systems, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Analyze process performance data to improve quality, cycle times, efficiency, throughput, and overall process capability.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, setup standards, validation protocols, and manufacturing records.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Control Plans, PFMEAs, process flows, and related quality documentation.
  • Participate in mold design reviews, material evaluations, and print reviews to ensure manufacturability and process success.
  • Design and execute DOE studies, capability assessments, and process validation activities.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on reducing scrap, lowering costs, improving OEE, and increasing productivity.
  • Serve as a technical expert and mentor for Process Technicians, Setup Technicians, and Operations teams.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, and statistical analysis tools to drive long-term process improvements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Plastics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of hands-on process engineering experience within plastics manufacturing, with significant injection molding expertise.
  • Strong background in scientific molding, decoupled molding, process window development, tooling, materials, and secondary operations.
  • Experience with mold sampling, process validation, capability studies, root cause analysis, CAPA investigations, and MRB support.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and experience with Moldflow, RJG/eDART, cavity pressure monitoring, or similar technologies is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DOE, SPC, GD&T, PFMEA, Control Plans, ERP/MES systems, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience working within ISO 13485 or other regulated manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, project management, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Tooling teams.
  • Must meet ITAR employment eligibility requirements.
