Job Title: Senior Process Engineer

Location: Chicago Heights, IL Area
Employment Type: Contract
Rate: $55 $90/hr on W2 DOE

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to serve as the technical System Owner for Pooling, Thawing, and Centrifugation (PTC) process systems supporting a large-scale plasma-derived therapeutics manufacturing expansion.

The role will provide engineering oversight across design, commissioning, startup, qualification, troubleshooting, vendor management, and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

Serve as System Owner for PTC process equipment and associated systems.

Support design review, construction, commissioning, startup, CQV, and operational handover.

Provide technical leadership for plasma bottle opening, thawing, pooling, centrifugation, and parts washer systems.

Participate in FAT, SAT, equipment acceptance, and startup activities.

Manage equipment vendors and contractors and drive resolution of technical issues.

Lead troubleshooting of equipment and process performance issues.

Develop and review URS, technical specifications, risk assessments, and turnover documentation.

Collaborate with Construction, Automation, CQV, Operations, Validation, and Engineering teams.

Support operational readiness and final handover to manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.

8+ years of pharmaceutical, biologics, or plasma manufacturing experience.

Experience supporting process equipment through startup and qualification.

Strong mechanical troubleshooting and equipment ownership experience.

Experience managing equipment vendors and contractors.

Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing environments.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Plasma fractionation experience strongly preferred.

Experience with plasma-derived therapeutics manufacturing.

Experience with companies such as CSL, Takeda, Grifols, Octapharma, Kedrion, or ADMA is a plus.

Exposure to Siemens PCS7 is preferred.

Salary

The hourly rate for this position is $55 $90 per hour on W2, depending on experience.
