Senior Principal Mechanical Design Engineer — Process & Equipment

Ready to lead complex mechanical designs in a nuclear manufacturing environment?

Join WECTEC Staffing Services (a wholly owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC) as a full-time, on-site Senior Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in Ogden, UT, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager.

What you’ll tackle

• Be the go-to technical partner for daily manufacturing and chemical operations support.
• Own new or modified system designs—specs, equipment selection, installation, fabrication, testing, and qualification—while upholding safety and regulatory compliance.
• Apply advances in materials, machinery, manufacturing, and chemical processing to unlock solutions to tough production problems.
• Invent better ways to design materials, equipment, and processes.
• Run and interpret engineering calculations, including FEA with ANSYS or similar tools.
• Lead capital projects: develop charters, management plans, schedules, detailed WBS, risk management plans, and project budgets; coordinate across departments.
• Interface with customers and regulators; address requirements and concerns; contribute proposals and strategic initiatives.
• Create technical papers and deliver formal presentations to customers and regulatory bodies.

Do you bring the following?

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
• 10+ years in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment.
• AutoDesk and ANSYS proficiency (preferred).
• Working knowledge of ASME codes.
• Track record leading projects end-to-end (design through commissioning): scope, schedule, budget, execution, and performance monitoring to targets. PMP certification.
• Proven teamwork and leadership.
• CAD capability in Inventor or SolidWorks (or comparable tools).
• Industrial refinery experience.
• Project leadership and troubleshooting experience.
