About the Role
Bell Flavors & Fragrances Inc. is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to join our Finance & Accounting team in Northbrook, IL. This position plays a critical role in developing and supporting accurate, competitive, and profitable pricing strategies for domestic and international customers.
The Senior Pricing Analyst will analyze cost data, market conditions, customer requirements, and key business drivers to develop pricing recommendations that support both customer needs and company profitability. This role will oversee customer pricing within the D365 ERP system, lead periodic pricing reviews, evaluate pricing scenarios, and collaborate closely with Sales, Technical, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, detail-oriented business partner who can translate complex pricing and financial data into actionable recommendations and effectively communicate those insights to stakeholders and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Technical, Finance, and other internal teams to develop competitive item pricing that balances profitability, customer requirements, and market conditions.
- Maintain, manage, and validate customer pricing within the D365 ERP system, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely implementation.
- Develop, review, and maintain tiered pricing structures designed to optimize profitability and support business objectives.
- Lead semi-annual pricing reviews and recommend pricing adjustments based on commodity costs, market trends, margin expectations, customer requirements, and overall business conditions.
- Monitor key cost drivers and market fluctuations and evaluate their impact on pricing, margins, and profitability.
- Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools using sales, pricing, cost, and margin data to support business decisions.
- Support the analysis, implementation, administration, and execution of pricing initiatives and pricing changes across the organization.
- Evaluate pricing scenarios and provide data-driven recommendations to support strategic and tactical business decisions.
- Identify pricing risks, process gaps, data-quality issues, and opportunities for process improvement; recommend and implement solutions to improve pricing accuracy and effectiveness.
- Serve as a pricing subject matter expert and provide guidance and analytical support to internal teams on pricing processes, tools, and business impacts.
- Present pricing analyses, recommendations, and financial implications to management and key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to promote consistency, accountability, and collaboration throughout the pricing process.
- Ensure pricing activities comply with applicable company policies, safety and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and food safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field required.
- 4–7 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, cost analysis, business analytics, or a related discipline required.
- Experience with custom-manufactured product pricing strongly preferred.
- Experience in the specialty chemical, ingredients, flavors, fragrances, food, or related manufacturing industries preferred.
- MBA or CPA designation preferred.
- Experience working with complex pricing structures, cost models, or customer-specific pricing preferred.
- Technical & Analytical Skills
- Strong understanding of pricing strategy, margin analysis, cost drivers, profitability, and financial analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with large data sets, formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and financial/analytical models.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Access preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or a comparable ERP system preferred.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports, pricing data, contracts, customer requirements, and other business documents.
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to identify trends, evaluate alternatives, and translate data into practical business recommendations.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively across Sales, Technical, Finance, and other departments.
- Ability to present recommendations and business impacts confidently to management.
- Highly organized and able to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and business needs may evolve.
