    Senior Portfolio Manager – Atlanta, GA

This role is ideal for an experienced commercial credit professional who can independently assess risk, structure sound credit solutions, and proactively identify changes in portfolio performance.

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
    • Minimum of 5 years of commercial credit, commercial lending, or portfolio management experience; 10 or more years preferred
    • Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, underwriting, risk ratings, loan structuring, and portfolio monitoring
    • Demonstrated ability to identify credit weaknesses, emerging trends, policy exceptions, and signs of financial deterioration
    • Experience preparing credit approval packages, commitment documents, proposals, and renewal materials
    • Understanding of loan documentation, financial covenants, reporting requirements, and other key credit provisions
    • Strong financial analysis, problem-solving, and independent decision-making abilities
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and move multiple credit requests through the approval process
    • Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    Description:
    • Manage the underwriting and ongoing servicing of a portfolio of commercial loan relationships.
    • Analyze borrower financial performance, industry conditions, collateral, repayment capacity, and other relevant credit factors.
    • Monitor portfolio activity to identify emerging risks, adverse trends, credit weaknesses, and potential deterioration.
    • Alert credit and portfolio leadership to material changes in borrower or portfolio conditions.
    • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to prioritize new credit requests, renewals, annual reviews, and other portfolio needs.
    • Evaluate proposed transactions and recommend appropriate loan structures, repayment terms, risk ratings, covenants, and credit protections.
    • Identify policy exceptions and clearly communicate the associated risks and mitigating factors.
    • Prepare credit approval memoranda, proposals, commitment materials, and supporting documentation.
    • Coordinate with Relationship Managers, credit partners, legal resources, and loan administration teams throughout the approval and documentation process.
    • Participate in customer meetings to discuss financial performance, due diligence requirements, and alternative credit structures.
    • Maintain direct communication with clients during underwriting, due diligence, and finalization of credit packages.
    • Serve as a secondary client contact and provide consistent portfolio support alongside the Relationship Manager.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of profitable, well-structured, long-term commercial credit relationships.
    • Operate as an individual contributor with no direct supervisory responsibilities.
