Pay range: $112,000 - $180,000 About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated professional to lead plumbing design initiatives, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a variety of exciting commercial, healthcare, institutional, and industrial projects.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in plumbing system design, project leadership experience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and design of plumbing systems for multiple projects.
- Perform plumbing system selection, sizing, and design calculations.
- Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary MEP teams, architects, contractors, and clients.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to plumbing design staff.
- Conduct site visits, field observations, and construction administration activities.
- Review project deliverables for technical accuracy and quality.
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client communications.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource throughout project lifecycles.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of plumbing design experience within an MEP consulting environment.
- Proven experience managing projects and leading engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of:
- International Plumbing Code (IPC)
- Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC)
- International Building Code (IBC)
- Comprehensive understanding of plumbing systems and building design.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) Certification.
- LEED Accreditation.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and related design software.
