Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer
Location: Plano, TX 75024 (Hybrid) – 1–2 days per week onsite (Candidate must be located within a 60-mile radius of a Bread Financial location. - No California candidates.
Duration: 12-month contract (Temp-to-Hire.)
Start Date: Targeting Oct 2026
Pay Rate: $64.28/hr. on W2
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision.
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM as per time zone

Job Summary
- We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable platform services, cloud-native solutions, automation frameworks, and developer enablement capabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in platform engineering, cloud technologies, DevOps, automation, infrastructure as code, and modern software engineering practices.
- This role will also focus heavily on AI-enabled engineering, intelligent automation, AI agents, and developer productivity across the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5–8 years of experience in platform engineering, software engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, automation engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, modern programming languages, automation frameworks, and engineering platforms.
- Experience designing and delivering scalable platform solutions, shared services, automation frameworks, reusable components, developer tools, and self-service capabilities.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and driving engineering best practices across teams.
Required Certification – Must Have One

- Lead the architecture and development of scalable engineering platforms, shared services, and reusable platform capabilities.
- Design APIs, SDKs, frameworks, templates, accelerators, and self-service solutions.
- Drive platform modernization and cloud-native adoption.
- Develop intelligent automation and AI-enabled engineering solutions across the software development lifecycle.
- Design and implement AI agents, orchestration frameworks, and autonomous workflows.
- Integrate LLM, RAG, MCP, prompt engineering, and context engineering capabilities into engineering platforms.
- Improve developer productivity and experience through self-service platforms and automation.
- Integrate platform capabilities into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows.
- Implement highly available, scalable, resilient, and observable platform solutions.
- Establish monitoring, operational intelligence, anomaly detection, and automated remediation.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and automation-first engineering practices.
- Establish security controls, governance standards, compliance automation, and technology guardrails.
