Senior Parts & Inventory Specialist

This hands-on role is responsible for parts operations, purchasing, inventory control, replenishment planning, receiving coordination, and cross-functional support across service, sales, warehouse, and accounting teams. Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including cycle counting, reorder points, demand planning, inventory turnover, and stockout prevention.

Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group has partnered with a Machinery Manufacturer in Charlotte, NC and together we are recruiting for a Senior Parts & Inventory Specialist. This hands-on role is responsible for parts operations, purchasing, inventory control, replenishment planning, receiving coordination, and cross-functional support across service, sales, warehouse, and accounting teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong inventory management experience, operational ownership, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Process and monitor parts orders from order entry through fulfillment and shipment.
• Provide parts pricing, availability, shipment status, and support to customers and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all inventory transactions are properly tracked and documented.
• Support physical inventories, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipment issues, and transaction errors.
• Analyze inventory levels, demand trends, and lead times to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Identify slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory and recommend corrective actions.
• Create, issue, and track purchase orders to ensure timely replenishment of inventory.
• Coordinate with suppliers on pricing, availability, lead times, backorders, and delivery schedules.
• Verify incoming shipments and ensure proper receiving, labeling, storage, and documentation.
• Process returned merchandise authorizations (RMAs), warranty claims, and related inventory transactions.
• Maintain accurate ERP records, purchasing data, item information, and inventory parameters.
• Collaborate with warehouse, service, sales, and accounting teams to support operational efficiency.
• Recommend and implement process improvements related to inventory accuracy, replenishment, purchasing, and workflow optimization.
• Serve as a senior resource for parts and inventory operations and provide guidance to team members as needed.

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in parts operations, inventory control, purchasing, warehouse operations, or a related environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including cycle counting, reorder points, demand planning, inventory turnover, and stockout prevention.
• Experience with ERP, inventory management, and purchasing systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related business applications.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• High level of attention to detail, accountability, and ownership.
• Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Pay Range: Hourly $30.00 to $33.00
