Location Brookfield Place, New York – 225 Liberty Street, Suite 4301Job Overview Brookfield Properties, a leading real‑estate investment management firm, seeks an experienced senior paralegal for a dual role. The position will support the legal team with contract formation and management across the New York City office and retail portfolio, while also assisting internal business teams in leasing, property management, design and construction, capital markets, and investment activities.Responsibilities Provide paralegal support for leasing activities across assigned NYC assets, preparing agreements such as minor lease amendments, side letters, brokerage agreements, commencement‑date agreements and related notices (ROFO, change of address, expansion, tenant notices).Support property‑management activities by drafting agreements including telecommunication license agreements, access agreements, and service agreements.Draft design- and construction‑related agreements such as design agreements, purchase orders, construction agreements, and consultant agreements.Assist finance and investment work by preparing estoppel certificates, SNDAs, managing checklists, and title‑related matters.Maintain business standards for all contract‑related work.Contribute to development and maintenance of legal processes, templates, playbooks, and standard positions.Participate in global portfolio initiatives such as due‑diligence exercises, form creation, and process improvement.Qualifications Four‑year post‑secondary degree and 5+ years' experience in commercial‑real‑estate contracting.Experience in a leading law firm or in‑house legal department.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe and other workflow tools.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.Strong organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills.Excellent analytical, detail orientation and error‑spotting abilities.High sense of urgency and independent working capability with ability to collaborate and seek guidance when needed.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Experience with AI productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) is an asset.Experience with New York City office and retail leasing is strongly preferred.Compensation & Benefits Salary: $125,000 – $150,000 annually (exempt, bi‑weekly).Medical & Pharmacy coverage under Brookfield Medical Plan.Dental coverage under Brookfield Medical Plan.Vision coverage under Brookfield Medical Plan.401(k) retirement plan.Employer‑paid life, short‑ and long‑term disability insurance.Brookfield Properties is an equal opportunity employer and fosters an inviting, inclusive and collaborative environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
