Roles & Responsibilities
Lead, coach, train, and support Legal Assistants and supervisors while managing departmental workflows, staffing, productivity, and performance.
Oversee cases from placement and suit preparation through filing, service, litigation, default, judgment, dismissal, or other disposition.
Monitor inventories, aging, deadlines, service activity, court milestones, reports, and exceptions to ensure timely case progression.
Review legal documents and employee work for accuracy, completeness, compliance, and adherence to client and court requirements.
Coordinate with attorneys, management, Human Resources, and operational teams on escalations, compliance, training, process improvements, technology, audits, and special projects.
7+ years of experience in a collections law firm, creditor rights firm, or legal collections environment; supervisory or management experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of Michigan court procedures, creditor rights, collections litigation, and Pre Suit and Pre Judgment processes.
Demonstrated ability to train, coach, motivate, develop, and hold employees accountable while supporting supervisors and senior team members.
Strong organizational, analytical, decision making, problem solving, communication, and deadline management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Advanced Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat proficiency, plus legal case management software experience; CLS experience preferred and adaptability to new technology required.
