Responsibilities: Position Summary:

Incumbent performs clinical assessment and care management for patient and presents relevant patient data to the physician. Removes sutures, applies and removes casts and splints. Collects and records patient data, monitoring patient flow during clinic hours and provides patient information and instructions upon discharge. Travel to Ambulatory clinics will be required. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, i.e. neonate, pediatric, adult or geriatric and provide the care needed. Demonstrates positive attitude and excellent customer service to all.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum 2 years experience working as an Orthopaedic Technician
  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of the duties assigned to the position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Current Orthopaedic Technologist Certified (OTC) from National Board for Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists, or Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) certification from the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals
  • BLS certification upon hire
  • Ability to regularly travel locally to Ambulatory Clinic off-site locations
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office
