    Description

We’re seeking a hands-on operations manager with experience scaling silicon-based products in a semiconductor company. This player-coach role owns the operational path from foundry and wafer production through test, backend processing, and manufacturing. You’ll qualify and manage manufacturing vendors, establish and strengthen quality-control measures, and drive consistent quality, yield, cost, and delivery as production grows.

Experience with RFID inlay production is especially relevant.

    What you’ll do:

    • Own foundry relationships from negotiation through production execution, and scale waferlevel production.
    • Manage wafer-test facility relationships; evaluate and qualify test partners, and select test equipment to optimize cost, quality, and throughput.
    • Lead test development, wafer backend operations, yield improvement, reliability, and failure analysis.
    • Qualify and manage manufacturing vendors, including overseeing end-to-end inlay production and its ramp to volume.
    • Establish and improve quality-control measures, operating procedures, and RMA processes.
    • Monitor supplier quality, conduct supply-chain audits, and resolve manufacturing, quality, and delivery issues.
    • Establish and improve ERP/MRP processes, WIP tracking, inventory planning, and production controls.
    • Develop cost models, negotiate contracts, and drive improvements in cost, quality, and delivery.
    • Manage one direct report and coordinate work across four internal engineers and executive stakeholders, including the CEO.

    What you’ll bring:

    • BSEE or equivalent practical experience.
    • 7–10 years of operations, manufacturing, or related experience in a semiconductor company.
    • Experience with RFID inlay manufacturing is a plus.
    • Hands-on experience with silicon-based products and semiconductor manufacturing operations.
    • Experience scaling products from wafer fabrication and test through backend processing and volume production.
    • Experience working with foundries, wafer-test facilities, and manufacturing vendors.
    • Familiarity with yield optimization, reliability, quality assurance, supplier audits, failure analysis, ERP/MRP systems, WIP tracking, and inventory planning.
    • Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills, with a practical, roll-up-yoursleeves approach.
