Position Overview:
The Senior OpenShift Architect will provide hands-on architecture, platform engineering, operationalization, and knowledge transfer for an enterprise Red Hat OpenShift environment. The consultant will help advance platform readiness through improvements to networking, cluster health, automation, delivery practices, lifecycle planning, and operating procedures while working closely with the customer team.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the current Red Hat OpenShift environment and define a practical roadmap toward broader production readiness.
- Design and implement an appropriate future-state OpenShift networking approach aligned with application and platform requirements.
- Diagnose and remediate cluster capacity, node-health, storage, and workload-stability conditions.
- Implement and improve GitOps, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, version control, and platform automation.
- Advance Ansible Automation Platform capabilities through integrations, execution environments, governance, and operational automation.
- Provide platform lifecycle, version, and upgrade guidance aligned with operational objectives.
- Establish platform standards, technical documentation, runbooks, and repeatable operating procedures.
- Work side by side with customer team members, emphasizing hands-on coaching and sustainable knowledge transfer.
Qualifications:
- OpenShift Virtualization certifications are required (EX156, EX316, EX336)
- Senior-level hands-on experience architecting, implementing, and operating Red Hat OpenShift in enterprise environments.
- Current Red Hat OpenShift certification or equivalent demonstrated platform expertise.
- Experience advancing OpenShift environments toward pre-production or production operational readiness.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift networking and modern container-platform architecture.
- Experience troubleshooting cluster health, node capacity, storage, and workload stability conditions.
- Experience implementing GitOps, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, source control, and platform automation.
- Strong Ansible Automation Platform experience, including governance, access controls, execution environments, integrations, and operational automation.
- Ability to produce clear architecture documentation, technical standards, and repeatable operating procedures.
- Strong customer-facing communication, facilitation, collaboration, and hands-on knowledge-transfer skills.
