Senior Network Engineer Information Technology Services Summary The Senior Network Engineer is part of a team of engineers who architect design build maintain and support the Firms global portfolio of networking infrastructure solutions. This role leads the lifecycle management of the networking portfolio striking the necessary balance between delivering solutions that provide an optimal experience for our lawyers staff practice groups and clients and avoiding concessions that introduce unacceptable risks to the Firm. To accomplish this objective the Senior Network Engineer partners closely with cross -functional IT solution teams as well as Information Security and other cross -functional stakeholders to continuously adapt solutions to meet the evolving needs of the Fi rm. This role requires an individual with the skills to think both strategically and tactically to support the Firms operational needs with the overarching objective of delivering gold -standard services. Apply Requirements Education & Certification College degree strongly preferred ideally with focus in computer science engineering or related fields CCNP or industry equivalent certification Responsibilities Leads the lifecycle management of the Firms Networking portfolio providing a technology experience that is stable secure and scalable to meet the needs of the Firm Leads the design of the Firms on -premises and cloud -based infrastructure including firewalls routers switches and wireless infrastructure. Leads the ongoing data center operations and maintenance of the Firms infrastructure estate working with third party providers contractors and resources as needed Develops and maintains infrastructure documentation including architecture diagrams system configurations and operational procedures Partners closely with the Firms Information Security organization IT Security Solutions team Application Solutions teams and other IT engineers to establish common standards and objectives for the Firms infrastructure solutions supports broader Infra structure functional objectives as needed Actively monitors diagnoses and optimizes infrastructure performance integrity and security to promote high availability Provides advanced technical support for the Firms on -premises and cloud -based infrastructure environments e.g. Tier 3 technical support in a 24x7 environment Partners with IT Security Solutions to architect and integrate the Firms infrastructure solutions with its portfolio of security technologies e.g. Perimeter Defense Monitoring & Logging and Identity Access and Authorization Management Requirements continued Knowledge & Experience 10 years of relevant experience as a Network or Senior Network Engineer ideally in a large Law Firm setting a comparable professional services organization or a legal information services provider Demonstrated experience managing the system lifecycle for global infrastructure solutions and capabilities Demonstrated experience with infrastructure design in a global multi -tenant environment including on -premises and cloud -based solutions Experience with Azure networking and hybrid connectivity. Hands ‑on experience with segmentation Zero Trust networking and identity ‑driven network policies. Demonstrated experience with Palo Alto Next Generation Firewall deployment and administration required Demonstrated experience with SD -WAN technologies - Palo Alto preferred Experience with Cisco Application Centric Architecture Catalyst switching and routing Ability to troubleshoot in complex network environments and quickly identify root cause problems Direct familiarity with routing protocols including BGP Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and capabilities Duties and Responsibilities continued Leads capacity planning and system optimization efforts for infrastructure solutions e.g. infrastructure performance performance fine tuning environment scaling Recommends schedules and performs ongoing maintenance and support activities e.g. infrastructure security audits upgrades reconfigurations optimizations Anticipates mitigates troubleshoots and resolves problems across the infrastructure stack with focus on preserving a gold -standard end user experience Supports application teams throughout project lifecycles serving as infrastructure subject matter expertise as required Collaborates well with cross -functional stakeholders and other third -party providers Stays current on trends in the marketplace conducting research on emerging infrastructure products services protocols and standards Supports the development documentation and maintenance policies procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use Uphold high standards of confidentiality discretion and integrity particularly with respect to all sensitive andor confidential firm and client information to which this position will have access. Status Exempt Reports To Infrastructure Services Manager Workplace Type Hybrid DC Salary range of 152000 - 190000 dependent on candidate experience. Core hours of 900 am - 530 pm Monday - Friday hybrid in -office which will be a combination of onsite and remote work with occasional on -call availability .
