Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, planning, coordination, implementation, and optimization of fixed network infrastructure. The role focuses on evaluating network performance, developing network architecture, conducting feasibility and cost studies, and ensuring network capacity planning aligns with business growth objectives across multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, plan, and modify network components supporting customer communication and implementation activities.
- Evaluate network performance and develop measurement criteria and methodologies.
- Analyze short-term and long-term capacity requirements for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling networks.
- Conduct network architecture design, feasibility assessments, and cost studies.
- Develop alternative routing scenarios and recommend network optimization strategies.
- Conduct economic and population growth studies to support network development plans and capacity forecasts.
- Ensure engineering teams meet KPIs and organizational objectives across all markets.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and contribute to the professional development of team members.
- Track expenditures and monitor budgets for fixed network projects.
- Assist with the preparation, quality control, and coordination of design documentation, including BOMs, RFPs, and RFQs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Outside Plant, Inside Plant, Commercial, and subsidiary operations.
- Support project execution across multiple locations while maintaining quality, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in network engineering, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Passive Optical Networking (PON), HFC/Coaxial, and Ethernet solutions.
- Experience with fiber splicing techniques, twisted pair, and coaxial cabling.
- Strong knowledge of multi-network architectures and fixed network technologies.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects and work streams simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and multiple operating locations.
- Valid passport, visa, and/or ability to travel internationally as required.
Preferred
- Professional certifications such as Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), BICSI, FOA, or equivalent.
- Experience in a telecommunications service provider environment.
- Experience in network planning, architecture, and capacity management across regional or international networks.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and telecommunications industry standards.
Working Conditions
Office and field-based role with frequent travel by air, land, and sea across operating markets.
The role may require:
- Participation in field investigations, site assessments, and network inspections.
- Operation of light vehicles where necessary.
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Extended periods of analysis, planning, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
