Job Summary
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, monitoring, and optimization of the organization's enterprise network and virtual infrastructure across domestic and international locations. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VPN, VMware, Azure, and associated systems. The position provides technical leadership, supports disaster recovery planning, and leads strategic infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, configure, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and virtual network environments.
Administer and support VMware environments including ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion, and virtual switching.
Manage Azure infrastructure including VNets, subnets, NSGs, VPN/ExpressRoute connectivity, Azure VMs, storage, and monitoring tools.
Maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and related network hardware; upgrade IOS and firmware as required.
Implement and maintain firewall policies, network segmentation, IPS/IDS, and secure remote-access solutions.
Monitor network and system performance using enterprise monitoring tools and perform proactive capacity planning.
Support Client enterprise storage systems integrated with VMware infrastructures.
Perform data backups, disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
Lead troubleshooting efforts, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain documentation including network diagrams, standards, operating procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
Provide Tier III escalation support and mentor junior IT staff.
Coordinate with vendors for procurement, support escalations, lifecycle management, and technology refresh initiatives.
Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotation as required.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking (BGP, OSPF, STP, QoS, IPsec).
Strong experience with Cisco, SD-WAN platforms, Palo Alto or equivalent firewall technologies.
Advanced VMware vSphere administration and virtual networking expertise.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and hybrid connectivity.
Experience with Client enterprise storage platforms supporting virtual environments.
Strong understanding of network security architecture and compliance standards.
