Senior .Net Software Engineer

*Sr. .NET Software Engineer *

*Reports To: *Manager Application Development

*Location:* Orange, CA 100% Remote but need local candidates

*Department #:* *Hours of Work: *Normal business hours and as needed.

*Term:*
This is a contract role expected to last 6+ months (not guaranteed).

*Purpose of Position:*

This is a hands-on, full-stack developer position responsible for coding, designing, and supporting applications that support Word and Brown’s key business objectives. This role works on a dedicated team and collaborates with multiple technology and business teams. This role does not oversee the work of other people.

*Essential Functions:*

Build and deliver software solutions that demonstrably provide business value while supporting the right blend of people, process, and technology

· Develop, support, and maintain application software, including front-end, business layer, data layer and systems integrations

· Follow modern development best practices with a focus on technical rigor that directly supports business functions

· Adhere to the definition of done in all solutions

· Architect and implement scalable and maintainable RESTful APIs for internal and external use, focusing on scalability, security, reliability, and performance to enable seamless communication between internal systems and third-party services.

· Integrate with third-party APIs to enable functionality such as data exchange, authentication, ensuring adherence to API specifications and security standards.

· Design database schemas and optimized SQL queries for improved efficiency and performance.

· Implement monitoring and logging solutions to track application health, identify performance bottlenecks, that will allow troubleshooting of issues proactively.

· Provide technical leadership and have knowledge and experience in current technologies to recommend and guide the development teams.

*Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:*

Required Technical Skills*

* Experience current versions of with C# and Visual Studio
* Experience with current versions of SQL Server
* Experience with web technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, MVC, CSS, and Angular
* Familiarity with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6+ and .NET Core Versions 6/7/8.
* Familiarity with writing and executing unit tests.
* Demonstrated familiarity with the “culture of DevOps”
* Understanding of enterprise design patterns and practices
* Hands-on API development

*Additional Preferred Skills*

* Familiarity with Agile and scrum methodology
* Familiarity with Git Repositories and Azure Repos
* Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines

*Educational Requirements:*

* Five plus (5+) years in a hands-on development role
* Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
* Health insurance industry and/or regulation driven (HIPAA, PHI, PII, etc.) are a plus.
* Appropriate Certifications (Microsoft, SQL, Azure) are a plus
