    Description

    1. JOB IDENTIFICATION

Position Title :  Senior .NET Developer

    1. DETAILS OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. About the role:
We are staffing developers to help a large hedge fund replace a commercial tick database (OneTick) with kdb+ for real-time market data and Apache Iceberg for end-of-day history. A Python service layer, exposed over gRPC and Arrow Flight, will sit in front of both stores. The fund's existing .NET wrapper stays as the client-facing interface and is re-backed by the new services.

The work runs in parallel with the current system: build the new stack, reconcile it against OneTick, then cut consumers over one at a time. This developer will own the .NET side of the migration, working alongside our architect and the client's engineering team.

    1. Responsibilities:
    • 6+ years of C# and modern .NET (6 or later).
    • Production experience with gRPC in .NET (Grpc.Net.Client, protobuf code generation, streaming calls).
    • Hands-on use of Apache Arrow in .NET (Apache.Arrow package) or another columnar data format.
    • Strong handling of high-volume data: memory allocation, Span/Memory, streaming, async.
    • Care with timestamp precision, time zones and numeric types.

    1. Nice to have:
    • Arrow Flight in any language.
    • kdb+ C# client experience (csharpkdb, qSharp) or basic q.
    • Prior work wrapping a market data or tick database API (OneTick, kdb+, Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
    1. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
      1. Work Experience:
    • Market data work at a hedge fund, bank, broker or trading technology vendor.
    • Familiarity with trades, quotes, order books, symbology, corporate actions and exchange calendars.
    • Understanding of the difference between exchange, vendor and capture timestamps, and why it matters.
    • Any of: equities, options, futures, FX or fixed income data.
