Description

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a mission-focused engineering organization, for a Senior Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) Engineer to support National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) mission and engineering initiatives. In this role you will apply modeling, simulation, analysis, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to evaluate complex architectures, emerging technologies, and future GEOINT capabilities that directly shape how the intelligence community collects, processes, and exploits geospatial data.

Day to day, you will build and run models and simulations, lead trade studies and analyses of alternatives, and translate technical findings into recommendations that inform architecture, acquisition, and CONOPS decisions. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between deep technical modeling work and clear communication with mission stakeholders, enjoys mentoring junior engineers, and thrives on connecting emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and Big Data to real-world mission impact across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze complex models, simulations, tools, and algorithms supporting NGA and GEOINT missions
  • Perform Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), trade studies, engineering assessments, and performance analysis
  • Model complex System of Systems and enterprise architectures across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments
  • Evaluate performance, capacity, mission effectiveness, and impacts of new technologies and sensor programs
  • Support future architecture, acquisition, CONOPS, and technical roadmap decisions
  • Analyze Big Data, machine learning, AI and automation, communications, and IT infrastructure impacts
  • Develop algorithms, code, and databases using tools and languages such as Python, R, C++, C#, Java, SQL, Excel, Oracle, and Access
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level MS&A engineers
  • Document modeling assumptions, methodologies, and analytical results for technical and executive audiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and mission teams to validate model outputs against operational requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, MIS, or related STEM field
  • Senior-level experience modeling and analyzing large, complex System of Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture environments
  • Experience working with cloud, on-premise, or hybrid infrastructures
  • Experience developing and/or utilizing analytical tools in cloud environments
  • Strong programming and data skills in Python, R, C++, C#, Java, or SQL
  • Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
  • Master's degree in a related STEM discipline preferred
  • Experience with MBSE methodologies, tools, and languages preferred
