Senior Mobile Ground Support Equipment Technician
Job Type: Full-Time | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM | Travel: As needed between MOB Airport and GPT Airport | Pay: $32–$35 per hour
Your Day
Morning starts at the airport tarmac. You review your work orders, load the service van, and roll out to the next gate. One hour you’re fine-tuning a belt loader’s hydraulic system; the next, you’re diagnosing electrical issues on a deicer. By afternoon, you’ve logged repairs, tested performance, and coordinated with ramp teams to return equipment to service—safely and on time.
About the Role
As a GSE expert, you’ll perform advanced maintenance and repairs on both motorized and non‑motorized Aircraft and Airline Ground Support Equipment. You’ll keep essential airport operations moving by ensuring equipment reliability across multiple disciplines.
What You’ll Do
- Refuel and service equipment with water, oil, hydraulic fluid, and compressed air.
- Record equipment IDs and detail the work required for each asset.
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, replace, repair, overhaul, or modify core systems and structures, including:
- Engines and transmissions
- Electrical systems
- Brakes and braking systems
- Hydraulic and pneumatic circuits on mobile lifts and conveyors
- Bumpers and body panels
- Bag cart curtains and curtain rods
- Towing hitches and tow bars
- Undercarriages, wheels, and tires
- Bushings, shafts, end plates, springs, coils, armatures, push rods, valves, manifolds, tubing, hoses, and wiring
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults following manufacturer guidance, industry standards, and safety rules.
- Remove, test, repair, or replace components such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points, and auditory sensors.
- Measure and set tolerances for valves, bearings, cams, clutches, and drive shafts.
- Use diagnostic tools and manuals to pinpoint issues.
- Operate and test ground equipment to verify performance.
- Complete documentation and track parts usage accurately.
- Champion safe work practices and PrimeFlight’s customer service standards.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Age 18+ with a valid driver’s license and reliable attendance.
- At least 6 years of verified experience as a technician or mechanic.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Ability to read and interpret print and digital documentation; comfortable using tablets (iPad), computers, and mobile devices.
- Clear, professional communication with colleagues and clients, in person and electronically.
- Personal hand tools and toolbox.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule when airline operations require, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Capability to obtain necessary credentials/clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, U.S. Postal—as applicable).

Physical Realities of the Job
- Lift up to 70 lbs.
- Stand and walk for extended periods in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Reach with arms; grasp with hands; push and pull as needed.
- Crawl and crouch in confined spaces when required.
- Bend, stretch, squat, and kneel to access components.
- Climb and work safely at elevated heights.
- Work around moderate to occasionally high noise.
- Occasional exposure to biohazards and/or chemicals, and frequent exposure to outdoor elements.
- Hear instructions and alarms; respond promptly.
- Perform repetitive motions of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
