Key Accountabilities
- Adhere to all MSHA regulatory and company standards

- Develop and present mid and long-range schedules
- Create level and stope designs
- Create Longhole drill and blast designs
- Work with the geological department to increase the mineral resource
- Provide guidance to short term planning/scheduling to ensure alignment to longer term goals
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate communications and relationships within the MTS department to understand their needs and provide advice for Geology and Survey as required
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate communications between the MTS department and other departments by maintaining appropriate relationships and a be-of-service approach
- Work collaboratively with mine production and geology departments and assist other functional areas to achieve their objectives
Qualifications / Experience- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering
- Minimum 5 years in the mining industry
- Experience in mechanized, high volume, low margin mining operations preferably including shallow dipping ore bodies. Experience in shallow dipping ore bodies utilizing cut & fill, room and pillar, and long hole mining methods
- Experience as a mine production engineer or short range planner beneficial
- Experience using Deswik Preferred
- Sound understanding of the functions carried out by the geological and mine engineering departments
- Understanding of technical and operating processes relevant to mine planning and scheduling
- Understanding of technical and operating processes relevant to project planning and scheduling
- Understanding of mining regulation and statutory responsibilities
