    Thin Technologies is a fast-growing Professional Services Provider that offers Enterprise-grade IT architecture, engineering, and deployment services to both US-based and global partners.  With our Consulting practice currently experiencing accelerated growth, we are seeking to fill a position for a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Deployment Engineer to lead and execute a coordinated refresh, migration, and upgrade project nationwide. Willingness to travel is a must. You will handle site readiness validation, physical server installations, and complex virtual workload migrations from VMware ESXi to Hyper-V. Because environments vary, you must excel at exception handling, troubleshooting undocumented infrastructure, and managing vendor or application dependencies on-site.

    • Pay is $90/hr DOE

    • 1099 or W2 Contract


    Phase 0: Site Survey & Readiness Validation

    • Validate physical server inventory scheduled for refresh or migration.

    • Confirm rack space, placement requirements, and environmental constraints.

    • Verify power availability, connectivity, cabling, and patching requirements.

    • Identify deployment risks, site-specific dependencies, and categorize locations into deployment archetypes.

    • Deliver site readiness checklists and go/no-go recommendations.


    Phase 1: Physical Server Installation

    • Rack and install new server hardware according to professional standards.

    • Patch, label, and manage network and power cabling.

    • Verify baseline power and network connectivity

    • Document installations with pre- and post-installation photographs and completion records.


    Phase 2 & 3: Hypervisor Configuration, Migration & OS Upgrades

    • Deploy and configure Microsoft Hyper-V

    • Build temporary migration resources and configure backup/recovery tooling.

    • Migrate virtual machines and workloads from VMware ESXi to Hyper-V

    • Migrate Active Directory services, as well as file and print services.

    • Perform approved Windows Server operating system upgrades

    • Validate core infrastructure functionality post-migration and maintain migration runbooks.


    Phase 4: Legacy Infrastructure Decommissioning

    • Confirm workload stability on the new Hyper-V platform.

    • Validate, unrack, and remove legacy servers.

    • Stage retired equipment for client asset disposition and complete decommissioning documentation


    Qualifications & Skills

    • Hypervisor Expertise: Proven experience configuring Microsoft Hyper-V and executing migrations from VMware ESXi.

    • Windows Server Administration: Strong background in Windows Server OS upgrades, Active Directory, and file/print service migrations.

    • Physical Infrastructure: Experience with physical server racking, stacking, professional cable management, and site environment audits.

    • Troubleshooting & Adaptability: Ability to handle non-standardized environments, legacy operating systems, and undocumented infrastructure.

    • Project Documentation: Experience creating technical runbooks, site readiness checklists, and risk assessments.

    • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to various locations across the United States.
