Salary $100,000 - $120,000 / Annum

The role 

We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Project Manager who brings real field knowledge to project leadership. 

This is not a desk-bound PM position. You’ll be regularly involved on jobsites, working alongside field teams, clients, engineers, and vendors to keep commercial mechanical projects moving from preconstruction through final closeout. 

As our Senior Mechanical Project Manager, you’ll have genuine ownership. You’ll work directly with senior leadership, have the authority to make informed decisions, and be trusted to run your projects without someone constantly looking over your shoulder. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead commercial mechanical projects from estimating handoff through completion. 
• Act as the technical authority for HVAC, plumbing, piping, air, water, and cooling systems. 
• Troubleshoot installation and equipment issues directly with field teams. 
• Manage project schedules, manpower planning, and material deliveries. 
• Own budgets, cost forecasts, financial reporting, and change orders. 
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation. 
• Coordinate equipment and material purchasing, specifications, and lead times. 
• Conduct regular jobsite visits and monitor project progress. 
• Lead inspections, commissioning, startup, punch lists, and project closeout. 
• Keep clients informed and resolve project issues quickly and professionally. 
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The person 

You’ll ideally bring: 

• 7–10+ years of mechanical/HVAC industry experience. 
• Hands-on field or technician experience before moving into project management. 
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems. 
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, change orders, and project documentation. 
• Confidence solving technical problems onsite with minimal oversight. 
• Comfort working equally well in the field and office. 
• Project management software and Microsoft Office experience. 

Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree is preferred but not essential. Strong industry and field experience matters more. 

The successful Senior Mechanical Project Manager will be technically credible, commercially aware, organized, and comfortable taking responsibility when decisions need to be made.
