Role Overview JR Automation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer in Greenville SC to lead the design and execution of complex custom automation projects for global manufacturing customers. This role combines hands-on mechanical engineering expertise with technical leadership overseeing cross‑functional teams managing multiple projects and driving quality cost and schedule performance. The ideal candidate thrives in an engineering-driven environment and is motivated by delivering innovative one-of-a-kind automation solutions.

How Youll Make an Impact Supervise mechanical engineers and other staff. Assist engineers to identify areas for technical and career development. Partner with manager to develop engineering department through leadership training and continuous improvement. Manage several on-going projects concurrently including staffing workload issues and meeting project timelines Design mechanical equipment to meet customer requirements. Responsible for leading cross-functional technical teams throughout the lifecycle of various projects. Assists with the successful management of assigned programs as they relate to cost quality timing and customer satisfaction. What Youll Bring Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field 10 years of relevant engineering experience 2 years of experience leading technical or engineering projects Demonstrated expertise with CAD software such as SolidWorks Creo NX or AutoCAD Broad and in-depth experience with automation products services and the automation industry Proven ability to identify systemic issues and drive improvements in departmental efficiency Experience leading cross-functional technical teams and influencing project direction and outcomes Serve as a technical expert and leader within the department Lead engineering teams and guide project execution prioritization and progress Ability to negotiate and resolve critical technical issues with internal stakeholders and customer engineers Strong communication skills including delivering technical presentations and participating in customer or media-facing engagements as needed Willingness to travel up to 20 to customer sites and other JR locations Engineering Management degree or MBA preferred FE Exam or EIT certification preferred
