Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Process Engineer (PE) to step into a high-impact leadership role with a clear path to executive leadership. This confidential succession-track opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines deep technical expertise with solid client relationship management, business development, and project leadership skills.
 
Job Type: Direct Placement
Location: Dayton, OH – Onsite
Pay Rate: $150,000 - $200,000 per year, based on experience, technical expertise, industry background, and overall qualifications. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) and provide PE oversight on industrial process and mechanical engineering projects.
  • Lead design and execution of process piping, steam and boiler systems, milling operations, bulk material handling systems, utility plants, fermentation systems, and manufacturing process infrastructure.
  • Manage client relationships, lead technical discussions, conduct site visits, and develop proposals.
  • Oversee projects ranging from feasibility studies to multi-million-dollar capital investments.
  • Mentor engineering teams and support cross-functional project execution.
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive company growth, succession planning, and long-term strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 15+ years of experience in mechanical/process engineering within industrial, manufacturing, or plant environments.
  • Experience with process piping, steam/boiler systems, milling operations, and industrial process design.
  • Proven success leading complex engineering projects and working directly with clients.

 
Preferred

  • ExperienceConsulting engineering or design-build environment.
  • Food & beverage, agri-processing, biotech, chemical, plastics, commodities processing, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Established client relationships and business development success.
