Design Custom Industrial Machinery

Job Description

Design machine systems and components to meet customer specifications and project requirements.

Develop 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and bills of materials utilizing SolidWorks.

Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses to support both new product development and enhancements to existing designs.

Design and modify mechanical assemblies involving drivetrains, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electro-mechanical systems.

Partner with purchasing, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and commissioning teams throughout the equipment build process.

Evaluate equipment performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.

Conduct root cause investigations and develop practical engineering solutions to resolve technical challenges.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to service teams and customers.

Participate in testing activities, analyze performance data, and implement design improvements as needed.

Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, and supporting design records.

Support commercial, manufacturing, service, and customer-facing teams with technical expertise.

Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Perform other duties as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

Minimum of 4 years of mechanical design experience.

Proficiency with 3D CAD software; SolidWorks experience preferred.

Strong understanding of machine design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical assemblies.

Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems.

Experience creating detailed engineering drawings and applying GD&T principles.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
