Whether your background is in civil engineering, environmental science, or infrastructure design, this is a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in a collaborative and innovative environment.

About Artheon

Artheon is a trusted engineering and consulting firm offering services that rival large organizations while maintaining the personalized client relationships of a boutique firm. With expertise spanning civil/site engineering, environmental permitting, transportation infrastructure, construction management, and advanced surveying technologies, we are committed to delivering high-quality, timely solutions to local, state, and federal clients.

This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role, working closely with clients while mentoring a team of junior engineers and helping drive projects from design through construction.

If you enjoy hands-on engineering work, solving complex infrastructure challenges, and guiding younger engineers, this role offers both technical depth and leadership opportunity.

What You'll Work On

Projects span a range of public and institutional facilities, including HVAC system upgrades, fire protection and plumbing systems, and mechanical improvements for schools, municipal buildings, and infrastructure facilities.

You'll help bring several active projects across the finish line while also contributing to new designs and future initiatives, working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Mechanical System Design

  • Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate project requirements, technical constraints, and cost implications.
  • Lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Perform system sizing, load calculations, and equipment selection
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and construction documents

Project Leadership

  • Manage multiple projects at various stages of completion
  • Coordinate closely with architects, civil engineers, and electrical engineers
  • Serve as a key technical contact for clients and project partners

Construction & Implementation

  • Review shop drawings, equipment submittals, and contractor documentation
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to evaluate system conditions
  • Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and final system performance

Team Mentorship

  • Provide technical guidance to junior mechanical engineers
  • Support quality control and knowledge sharing across the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (NJ preferred)
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Strong experience designing HVAC systems
  • Experience with plumbing and fire protection systems
  • Experience working on municipal, institutional, or infrastructure projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with clients and contractors

Preferred

  • Experience with AutoCAD or Revit
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE and NFPA codes
  • Experience with facility upgrades, school renovations, or treatment facilities

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
