Representing a growing MEP & Fire Protection firm, we are searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer, to join their team. Office is located in western Suffolk County--easy commute; close to major highways.
As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for completing detailed engineering calculations, designing HVAC systems, etc. Responsibilities may include:
- Reviewing and analyzing architectural & engineering plans
- Performing engineering calculations to support HVAC system design
- Heating & cooling load calculations
- Static pressure calculations
- Hydraulic head pressure calculations
- ETC
- Design, size & layout ductwork & piping distribution systems
- Size & select HVAC equipment to support overall design
- Perform site surveys
- Attend meetings with architects, contractors, owners & building managers
- Organize & maintain project records
- Support construction administration activities by reviewing submittals, shop drawings
- Prepare responses to RFI and provide input as needed
- Perform periodic field visits
- Other duties as required
Education & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in buildings system designs in commercial, multi-family and/or hospitality areas
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relating field
- PROFICIENT IN USE OF:
- Strong Technical skills
- Ability to work with others and provide professional feedback as required
- Ability to work diligently to meet project deadlines
- PE License a PLUS, but NOT REQUIRED
