As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will do researches, plans, designs, develops, and implements/installs mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. A Senior Professional position applies advanced knowledge of a job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. Spend approximately 80% of time on the production floor in high-temperature, high-noise environments (hearing protection required) around moving equipment and heavy machinery, 10% at a desk on computer, and 10% in meetings.
  • Salary: $100,000 – $120,000/year + 10% annual target bonus.
  • Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing industry.
  • Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide mechanical expertise across single or multiple plant areas.
  • Lead continuous improvement, corrective action activities, and projects.
  • Offer technical support to internal customers.
  • Manage projects including new machine installations and upgrades ($50K–$5M scope).
  • Analyze project requirements, address design parameters and engineering challenges to deliver accurate, timely, and budgeted solutions.
  • Oversee project workflow, supporting internal and external resources for on-time delivery, quality standards, and budget adherence.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety objectives and legal requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate existing systems, processes, and technologies; recommend modifications to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Serve as mechanical lead through all project phases: design, fabrication, implementation, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), commissioning, and daily operation.
Engineering Duties:
  • Develop and manage engineering drawings using Autodesk products (AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, Vault).
  • Create and finalize designs meeting project scope, safety requirements, Bill of Materials, and spare parts needs.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manage external contractors for installations.
  • Conduct project/equipment risk assessments and implement safety countermeasures.
  • Perform machine FAT, startup, and commissioning.
Required Skills:
  • 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks, Inventor).
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and conveying systems.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
  • Manufacturing environment experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Solid background in machine design.
  • Critical thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
