    Talon Hiring Solutions is partnering with a growing engineering and infrastructure organization to identify experienced Mechanical Engineers to support and lead the design, analysis, and execution of complex industrial, manufacturing, utility, energy, and mission-critical projects.

    This opportunity is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving challenging technical problems, leading multidisciplinary projects, and contributing throughout the entire project lifecycle—from concept development and detailed design through construction, startup, and commissioning. We are seeking candidates ranging from experienced project engineers to senior-level technical leaders.

    What You'll Do

    • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects.
    • Prepare and review: 
      • Equipment layouts
      • General arrangement drawings
      • Mechanical specifications
      • Equipment data sheets
      • Technical evaluations
      • Procurement packages
      • Construction documents
    • Design and support systems related to: 
      • Process and utility infrastructure
      • Industrial piping systems
      • Cooling and fluid handling systems
      • Compressed air systems
      • Water and utility systems
      • HVAC systems
      • Rotating equipment
      • Facility support systems
    • Perform engineering calculations, system analyses, and equipment evaluations to ensure design integrity and performance.
    • Develop equipment specifications and support procurement activities.
    • Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and equipment documentation.
    • Support projects through planning, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and commissioning phases.
    • Coordinate closely with civil, structural, electrical, controls, process, and construction teams.
    • Participate in design reviews, constructability evaluations, and interdisciplinary project meetings.
    • Identify technical risks and develop practical engineering solutions.
    • Ensure engineering deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
    • Provide technical support during construction, testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
    • Conduct site visits, field inspections, equipment walkdowns, and troubleshooting efforts.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives, engineering standards development, and quality programs.
    • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development efforts across the organization.

    What You'll Bring

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
    • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, with consideration given to highly qualified senior-level candidates.
    • EIT certification preferred.
    • PE license preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
    • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, utility, infrastructure, mission-critical, or EPC-related projects.
    • Strong knowledge of: 
      • Thermodynamics
      • Fluid mechanics
      • Heat transfer
      • Rotating equipment
      • Mechanical equipment systems
      • Industrial piping systems
      • Mechanical system integration
    • Experience preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
    • Familiarity with procurement support, vendor document reviews, construction documentation, and commissioning activities.
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
    • Experience with Plant 3D, Navisworks, pipe stress analysis software, or similar engineering tools is a plus.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
    • Experience mentoring engineers or leading engineering tasks is highly valued.
