Job overview:

Schneider's Transportation Management (STM) division is seeking a Senior Market Specialist in Sarasota to manage key carrier relationships within a specific market to generate capacity to service customers and exceed sales goals. The Senior Market Specialist will also coach a team of freight brokers who are assigned to the same market.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate daily assignments to freight brokers within the designated inbound market.
• Coordinate carrier solutions to ensure a consistent freight volume for shippers.
• Prioritize carrier coverage and make purchasing decisions for freight.
• Coach and mentor new freight brokers.
• Prospect for new carriers.
• Quote, negotiate and commit transportation services with carriers.
• Grow business with existing carriers.
• Make profit-based decisions based on data, market trends and judgement.
• Manage freight pick-up, transit and drop-off to ensure it is delivered on time.

Skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, sales or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Confident speaking with carriers and making outbound phone calls.
